Live it to Give it

Live it to give it. That’s the first thing I learned in life coach training.

I need to be living and doing the very things I help my clients to do. How can I tell someone to do something I’m not even doing for myself?

That’s why I invest so much time, energy, and money into having my own coach and continuing to do the work on myself that my clients are doing...digging deep to know myself better and become the women I was created to be.

Personal growth is a top value for me...I want to continue to grow, change, and evolve. The work I’ve done in the last few years, and especially recently, has led to so much goodness. I have redefined success and I have realized how afraid I am of doing things wrong, even having fun!

It’s always my goal to be transparent with you. I don’t ever want to give the impression that I’ve got it all figured out because, friend, I’m far from it. What I want you to know is that I’m right there with you in the trenches of becoming the best person I can be. The best version of me.

But, what is the best version of me? What does that even look like?

I’m a wife, a mom, a friend, a coach, a daughter, an aunt...and I show up differently in all those different parts of my life. You probably do, too. It’s pretty normal.

Lord knows, we don’t behave in the same way with our grandmas as we do with our besties, right?

My coach challenged me to define what showing up as my best self looks like. I definitely already had a vision of that in my head, and I certainly was NOT living up to it. I actually didn’t love cooking with my kids, I wasn’t great at making all the holiday themed cookies and cupcakes, nor was I ever making three meals a day for my family!

But when I got down to it, I knew in my heart what it looks like to be the best wife, mom, daughter, friend, and coach. I knew what matters most to me.

And guess what!

Yep! I’m already being the best version of me. Sure there’s room for improvement, but I’m mostly there. Problem solved, right?

Ha! It’s never that cut and dry for me, or any of us that are HUMANS!

See, even though I discovered I’m showing up as the best version of me, something still felt off.

Long story short, I’ve been compartmentalizing like a pro! I’ve been showing up in my various roles, as THAT version of me, not the WHOLE me.

My family doesn’t get to see much of the coachy, self-help side of me.

In my work, I’m not sharing much about my hobbies, my family, or my homelife. You definitely haven’t been getting the full picture of me.

Because I don’t like to do things “wrong,” I’ve been showing up in my work like I thought I SHOULD like working hard to make great programs. And working towards goals like getting more email subscribers, getting to a certain income range, and having a certain number of clients. Listening to all the noise out there about HOW to do business.

It didn’t take long before I started to feel trapped. I need(ed) to break out of all my compartments.

It’s more than a little scary to think about showing up as all of myself in every area of my life.

It’s hard to ditch the stories and the lies I’ve been believing about how I SHOULD show up. It’s hard to not care about what everyone else thinks, but I’ve gotten to the point where I want the freedom more than I care what anyone else thinks.

I’m living it to give it.

I want to follow the joy and curiosity in my life and inspire you to do the same.

I want to practice having fun every day and encourage you to add more fun into your life.

I want to live each day as fully and as intentionally as I can each day and share the journey with you.

Tell me, sweet friend, what if you showed up as your WHOLE self in every area of your life? How would your life be different? You may not TOTALLY know, I don’t know exactly yet either. But I do know that being able to show up fully as myself in my business will feel great, and I’m willing to explore the rest.  Wanna join me?
