I think I'm almost always in a state of working on myself.
Although I’ve made a lot of progress over the years, I definitely have not waded through all the shit.
I’m definitely still in the muck.
I’m willing to guess you are too.
What’s on my heart is sharing with you some of the lessons I’ve learned or am in the process of learning. I hope you realize you’re not alone. I hope you find some inspiration and a lot of permission to go after the things you’re craving so your life feels meaningful and fulfilled.
Right now, I want you to know that you don’t have to have that big dream of yours all figured out to get started.
Start your business.
Start making plans for the trip you’ve been wanting to take.
Get the gym membership.
Go on the first date.
Start now. Start before you’re ready. That’s the only way for forward momentum to begin.
Right now, I want you to know the world needs to hear what you have to say.
We could all share the same message, but only you can say it with your unique voice and from your own unique experiences.
Use your voice to create the life and the lifestyle you want to have. Advocate for yourself at your doctor’s appointment.
Call your congressmen and representatives.
Tell your husband you need a day to yourself.
Ask for the raise.
Using your voice might be the opposite of what you’ve been taught, but let me tell you, we need to hear what you have to say!
Right now, I want you to know our thoughts create our own suffering.
We don’t just have feelings. The thoughts we think create the feelings we have.
Feeling sad because the dress doesn’t fit? The dress not fitting isn’t what’s making you sad. It’s the thoughts you’re thinking about the dress not fitting that makes you feel like crap.
Let me guess what’s going through your head. “I’m so fat! How could I let myself go like this?” “Ugh! This dress fit last year. I suck.”
The good news is, you can change your feelings by working on changing your thoughts! It takes practice, but it’s SO DOABLE. This is one of the main things I work on with my clients every day!
Right now, I want you to know it’s ok to want more for yourself.
Even if your life is pretty damn good, it’s ok to want more.
Even though you’re happy and your life is good, you might feel like you’re not living up to your potential.
Your business might be making plenty of money to pay the bills, but maybe you’d like to be putting more into savings.
Wanting more doesn’t mean you don’t love and appreciate what you already have. I believe you wouldn’t be hearing the whispers of “more” if you weren’t meant to have it.
Right now, I want you to know it’s time to stop chasing perfection.
Girl, this one is a big one! Stop holding yourself to a set of expectations you’d never expect of anyone else!
You don’t have to have the perfectly clean and tidy home for your friends to feel welcome.
You don’t have to have the perfect goodie bags to have a fun birthday party your child will never forget.
You don’t have to have the perfect thank you card to send a meaningful note.
When we chase perfection we operate from a place of stress and trying to do it all, it robs us of the opportunity to enjoy the here and now.
And typically, it leads to us beating ourselves up because things didn’t go exactly the way you intended.
Right now, I want you to know it’s time to stop beating yourself up.
Seriously! Stop speaking to yourself in a way that you’d never speak to someone else.
How many times a day do you call yourself stupid or lazy? How many times a day to you tell yourself you SHOULD HAVE done better or known better?
I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t say those things to your best friend.
You deserve love and kindness especially from yourself. It takes practice but noticing how you speak to yourself and changing it up is possible.
Right now, I want you to know it’s time to get in the picture.
Stop avoiding the camera!
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but someday you’re not going to be here and your family and children are going to be thrilled to have ANY photo of you.
They’re not going to notice your size, your hair, or your clothes. They’re going to see YOU and be so grateful to have a piece of you there with them.
I could go on and on...there’s so many thoughts I want to share to encourage you.
None of us have it all figured out. We are all on this journey together, and it’s my mission to be the biggest cheerleader and encourager I can to my fellow sisters.
Fellowship and community is vital to our success. We all need someone to say, “Yea. I hear you. I’ve felt the same thing,” or “I get it. I’m struggling, too.”
I believe women are better together, and community over competition wins every time!
If you believe this too, I’d love you to join my in my Facebook group, Live Your Legacy NOW, where we support each other around all these things and more!
